Quentin Tarantino
Quentin Tarantino is one of the most famous directors today, mainly known for creating films with horrific gore and violence, such as Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. To date he has currently produced 18 films and has acted in a total of 19 including some that he produced. Not only is he a producer and minor actor, he is also a writer, director and overall theatre enthusiast. He has dedicated his life to film having never married or had any kids and recently stated, “I'm not saying that I'll never get married or have a kid before I'm 60. But I've made a choice, so far, to go on this road alone. Because this is my time to make movies.”
Death Proof (2007), Desperado (1995), Destiny Turns on the Radio (1995), Eddie Presley (1993), Four Rooms (1995), From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), Full Tilt Boogie (1997), Girl 6 (1996), Grindhouse (2007), Inglourious Basterds (2009), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004), Pulp Fiction (1994), Reservoir Dogs (1992), Sin City (2005), Sleep with Me (1994), Somebody to Love (1994).
His films are so successful as he is knows what he wants from his films; he is a very confident writer, producer and director. With his own style and trademark of gore and violence we see how he uses this in Kill Bill one of his most known films.

Analysing Silence Of The Lambs DVD Cover
Silence of the Lambs (1991) is an American thriller movie which incorporates elements of crime and horror.
The main image on this DVD cover is a level frame, big close up of a woman’s face, taken at eye level. The use of a big close up enables the audience to have a very good view of the expression on the woman’s face. She has quite a wide-eyed, almost shocked expression on her face, which leads the audience to wonder what has happened to surprise her like that. Her eyes capture the audience's attention and can be thought of as quite eerie as the positioning of them make it seem as no matter where you move, they follow you. Her eyes are reddish-brown, which stand out from the rest of her pale face and the red tinge makes her appear to be less human, the audience wonders what happened to this woman to make her eyes a reddish-brown and her skin grey-white. The woman is directly addressing the camera which makes the image more striking and attracts an audience’s attention.
The woman herself appears to be a white female, but the image appears to have a grey coloured tint on it. The use of the grey makes the character seem quite deathly, since skin becoming grey and lacking colour is often a sign that of death. The big close up on her face prevents us from seeing the woman’s hair, which makes the picture more mysterious since we can’t really get the full picture of what this woman looks like, so we begin to wonder who exactly this woman is. This is something that the audience would expect to find out once they watch the film therefore enticing them to watch it. The woman’s mouth is being covered by a butterfly, which at first glance appears to be harmless, but in fact there’s a skull on the butterfly. This skull signifies death and it seems as if this butterfly is trying to prevent her from speaking and thus ‘’silencing’’ her from pointing her out whoever the evil character in the film is. So effectively, having this moth on her mouth is like a metaphoric sign of death. The moth, along with the woman’s reddish eyes and grey skin all suggest that the woman on the cover is the victim or one of the victims in the film.
